Als je ooit wilt beginnen met Tunisch haken dan is de Tunische een hele fijne steek om mee te beginnen. Je kunt deze namelijk met een ‘normale’ haaknaald haken, dus geen gedoe met nieuwe haaknaalden zoeken, én met een relatief simpele steek krijg je een geweldig mooi effect.

If you ever want to give tunisian crochet a go, the tunisian entrelac stitch is the place to start. This stitch can easily be made with a ‘normal’ crochet hook, so no need to go shopping for new hooks. And more important: with a relatively easy stitch you get an amazing result.

Before you start
Wat heb je nodig om tunisch te haken?
- haaknaald. Voor tunisch entrelac haken kan dit een normale haaknaald zijn. Ik pak wel altijd een maatje groter dan ik normaal nodig zou hebben
- garen. De tunische entrelac steek is het mooiste wanneer je verschillende kleuren gebruikt
- steekmarkeerders. Met name in het begin kan het helpen om bepaalde steken even te markeren
What do you need for tunisian crochet?
- crochet hook. For tunisian entrelac this can be a normal crochet hook. I do use a size bigger then I usually would because tunisian entrelac can easily become to tight
- yarn. For the best result use multiple colours
- stitch markers. Especially the first time it can help to mark certain stitches
Het begin
- Deze uitleg gaat over tunisch entrelac in de ronde haken. Je start dus met een ronde met vasten, of een opzetronde.
- aan het einde van de opzetrij maak je een halve vaste in de eerste steek om een cirkel te maken.
- steek de naald in de volgende steek en haal een lus op
- draad omslaan en door beide lussen op de naald halen
- steek de naald door het verticale lusje (daar waar je draad niet uitkomt, aangegeven met de pijl op de 2e foto), haal een lus op
- steek de naald door de volgende steek en haal een lus op
- draad omslaan, haal door de eerste twee lussen op de naald, draad omslaan en haal door de resterende 2 lussen op de naald
- steek de naald in door het eerste verticale lusje (aangegeven met de pijl in de 5e foto), haal een lus op
- steek de naald door het volgende verticale lusje (aangegeven met de pijl in de 6e foto), haal een lus op, steek de naald in de volgende steek en haal een lus op
- draad omslaan, haal door de eerste 2 lussen op de naald. Herhaal dit tot je nog maar 1 lus op de naald hebt staan
- blijf stap 5 – 9 herhalen tot je 7 lussen op de naald hebt staan, herhaal stap 10
- maak een halve vaste in elk verticaal lusje en in de volgende steek
- herhaal vanaf stap 1, helemaal rond. Sluit de ronde
The start
- In this tutorial the tunisian entrelac stitch is crocheted in the round. Start with a round with sc or a chainless foundation round.
- at the end of the foundation row, make a slip stitch in the first stitch of the foundation row, creating a circle.
- Insert hook in stitch and pull up a loop
- Yarn over and pull through both loops on the hook
- Insert hook in vertical bar (indicated with the black arrow in the second photo), pull up a loop
- Insert hook in the next stitch and pull up a loop
- Yarn over, pull through first 2 loops on the hook, yarn over and pull through all loops on the hook
- Insert hook in the first vertical bar (indicated with the arrow in the fifth photo), pull up a loop
- Insert hook in the next vertical bar (indicated with the arrow in the sixth photo), pull up a loop, insert hook in the next stitch and pull up a loop
- Yarn over, pull through first 2 loops on the hook, repeat until you have 1 loop left on the hook
- Keep repeating step until you have have 7 loops on the hook after step 9, repeat step 10
- Make a slip stitch in each vertical bar and in the next stitch
- Repeat from step 1, all around. Close the round
De volgende rondes
Je hebt nu de eerste basis ronde gehaakt, met allemaal driehoeken. Tijd om verder te gaan met een ronde met de volledige entrelac vierkanten.
- Hecht een nieuwe kleur aan. Steek de naald door de volgende steek en haal een lus op
- Haal een lus op in elke steek tot je 7 lussen op de naald hebt staan
- Draad omslaan en door de eerste twee lussen op de naald halen
- Blijf stap 3 herhalen tot je weer terug aan het begin bent en nog 1 lus op de naald hebt staan
- Steek de naald door het verticale lusje
- Draad omslaan en een lus ophalen
- Herhaal stap 5 en 6 voor elk verticale lusje, je hebt nu 6 lussen op de naald
- Steek de naald door de steek van de vorige ronde en haal een lus op, je hebt nu weer 7 lussen op de naald staan
- Herhaal stap 3 en 4 tot je weer terug bij het begin bent en nog 1 lus op de naald hebt staan
- Blijf stap 5 – 9 herhalen tot je 5 toeren hebt gemaakt
- Steek de naald door het verticale lusje en maak een halve vaste
- Blijf halve vasten maken tot je bij het einde van de rij bent
- Maak een halve vaste in de volgende steek van het vierkantje van de vorige ronde
- Herhaal vanaf stap 2 voor het volgende vierkantje tot je helemaal rond bent. Sluit de ronde
- Blijf deze stappen herhalen tot je project de juiste maat heeft
The next rounds
You now have the foundation rounds with 12 tunesian triangles finished. Time to continue with the ‘normal’ tunesian entrelac squares.
- Attach a new colour. Insert the hook in the next stitch and pull up a loop
- Pull up a loop in every stitch until you have 7 loops op on the hook
- Yarn over and pull through first 2 loops on the hook
- Yarn over and pull through first 2 loops, keep repeating until you are back at the start and have 1 loop left on the hook
- Insert hook under vertical bar
- Yarn over and pull up a loop
- Repeat step 5 and 6 for every vertical bar (you now have 6 loops on the hook)
- Insert hook in the stitch from the previous round and pull up a loop (you now have 7 loops on the hook)
- Repeat step 4
- Keep repeating step 5-9 until you’ve made 5 rows.
- Insert hook under the vertical bar and make a slip stitch
- Keep slip stitching until you’ve reached the end of the row
- Make a slip stitch in corner stitch of the square of the previous round
- Start again at step 2, all around. Close the round
- Keep repeating these steps to complete your project
