The Katwijk square pattern
Each square is worked in two colours, referred to as colour A and colour B in the pattern.
- Colour A, make a magic ring, sc in the loop, ch 3 [counts as dc, ch2], (3dc in loop, ch2) 3 times, 2dc in loop, ss to first ch of begin ch-3 to join. [12 stitches, 4 ch-2 spaces]. Fasten off.
- Colour B, beg dc in any ch-2 space, dc in next 3 stitches, (2dc, ch2, 2dc) in ch-2 space, dc in next 3 stitches, dc in last ch-2 space. [12 stitches]. Fasten off. (you’ve only worked in 2 sides of round 1)
- Colour A, beg dc in first stitch, dc in each stitch to ch-2 space, (2dc, ch2, 2dc) in the ch-2 space, dc in each stitch to end. [16 sts] Fasten off.
- – 9. Repeat round 3, changing between colour A and colour B every round.
- This round is worked around the whole square. Colour B, (standing sc, ch2, sc) in first stitch, sc in each stitch to ch-2 space, (sc, ch2, sc) in ch-space, sc in next 19 stitches, (sc, ch2, sc) in next stitch, 19sc down edge to unworked ch-2 space from round 1, (sc, ch2, sc) in ch-space, 19sc evenly across next edge, ss to beg sc. [84 sts] Fasten off, leaving a long tail.
Patroon van het Katwijk vierkant
Voor elk vierkant heb je twee kleuren nodig, deze staan als kleur A en kleur B genoemd in het patroon.
- Kleur A, maak een magische ring, v in de ring, 3 l [telt als 1 st + 2 l], (3 st in de ring, 2 l) 3 keer, 2 st in de ring, hv in eerste l van begin 3-l om te sluiten. [12 steken, 4 lossenruimtes]. Hecht de draad af.
- Kleur B, begin-st in een lossenruimte, st in de volgende 3 steken, (2 st, 2 l, 2 st) in lossenruimte, st in de volgende 3 steken, st in de lossenruimte. Hecht de draad af. [12 steken]. (deze ronde werkte je dus maar in 2 zijden van ronde 1).
- Kleur B, begin-st in eerste steek, st in elk van de volgende steken tot lossenruimte, (2 st, 2 l, 2 st) in de lossenruimte, st in elk van de volgende steken tot einde. Hecht af. [16 steken]
- – 9. Herhaal ronde 3, waarbij je elke ronde van kleur wisselt tussen kleur A en kleur B.
- Kleur B. Deze ronde werk je rond het hele vierkant. (st-v, 2 l, v) in eerste steek, vaste in elke steek tot lossenruimte, (v, 2 l, v) in lossenruimte, c in elk van de volgende 19 steken, (v, 2 l, v) in volgende steek, 19 vasten langs de rand tot de lossenruimte uit ronde 1, (v, 2 l, v) in lossenruimte, 19 v langs de rand, hv in 1e v om te sluiten. Hecht de draad af en laat een lange draad over. [84 steken]
