I’ve told you before, but I just love headbands! They keep your ears warm, don’t mess up your hair and, also important, they are such an easy make! I did not make photo’s while making this headband because it was a dark evening, but it is really easy, so I think a written pattern will be enough! If you have any questions, let me know!!
Ik heb het al eerder gezegd, maar ik ben groot fan van hoofdbanden! Ze houden je oren lekker warm, terwijl je haar (redelijk) goed blijft zitten, en niet onbelangrijk: ze zijn supersimpel om te maken! Ik maakte deze hoofdband op een donkere novemberavond dus ik heb geen foto’s, maar ik weet zeker dat het uitgeschreven patroon voldoende is! Als je vragen hebt, laat het me weten!!
What do you need?
- Crochet hook 7 mm
- Bulky yarn to fit this hooksize. I used Rico Creative Soft Wool Aran, which is worsted weight yarn, but I used it double stranded.
- Needle
Wat heb je nodig?
- Haaknaald 7 mm
- Garen passend bij de haaknaald, ik gebruikte Rico Creative Soft Wool Aran en dat gebruikte ik dubbeldraads.

The pattern
The stitch you use for this headband is the herringbone hdc (HBhdc). This is how you make this stitch: yarn over, insert your hook into the stitch, yarning over again and pull loop through, but pull through the next loop too, (that is what is setting it apart from a regular half double crochet.) Then, yarn over one more time, and pull through the remaining two loops on the hook.
Chain 11
1. Make a HBhdc in the 3rd chain from the hook and every chain after, chain 2 and turn. (9 steken)
2. Make a HBhdc in each stitch till the end chain 2 and turn.
Repeat 2 until you have the desired length of your headband (for me: 45 rows in total)
Fold you headband in half and slip stitch through the stitches of the begin chain and the last row you made to close the headband.
Embroider the little flowers on you headband.
Het patroon
Het patroon voor deze hoofdband is echt niet ingewikkeld! De steek die je gebruikt is de kepersteek. Dit is hoe je het keper halve stokje haakt: draad omslaan, insteken en draad ophalen en direct door de eerste lus op de haaknaald halen (je hebt nu 2 lussen op je haaknaald) draad omslaan en door beide lussen op de haaknaald halen.
Haak 11 lossen
1. Haak een kepersteek in de 3e losse vanaf de naald en in elke losse daarna. 2 lossen en keren. (9 steken)
2. Haak een kepersteek in elke steek tot het einde, 2 losse en keren
Herhaal 2 tot je de gewenste lengte van je hoofdband hebt (voor mij betekent dit in totaal 45 rijen). Vouw je hoofdband dubbel en haak met halve vasten de 1 en de laatste rij aan elkaar vast zodat je een hoofdband hebt.
Borduur met een andere kleur garen leuke bloemen op de hoofdband.
